Grady Ray Carter, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home in McGehee, Arkansas. He was born September 20, 1942 in Ashley County, AR to the late William Frank and Nellie Chadwick Carter. Grady was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion. Grady was a master electrician and retired from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in March 2015.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Carter. Survivors include his wife, Dot Carter; son, Frank Carter of Crossett, Arkansas, daughters, Deborah Carter of Austin, TX and Cindy Vandiver of Woodbury, GA; step-daughters, Tonya Horner of Gillett, AR and Tina Pickens of Hot Springs, AR; sister, Arlene Sumner of Bastrop, LA; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11:30am-12:30pm Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Graveside Services will follow at 2 pm at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Drew County, AR with Rev. Johnny Carter officiating.
