Watson Davis Coulter (Rusty), 67 of McGehee passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 in Little Rock, Ar. Rusty was born December 5, 1949 in Dumas, Ar. to Emmer Elizabeth McMahan Coulter and the late Harrison Coulter. After finishing school at McGehee High School Rusty joined the Marine Corps where he served as a machine gunner in the Vietnam Conflict. Rusty left the Marine Corps after 6 years and joined the U.S. Army where he served another 4 years spending 1 year in the Korean conflict. While serving his country, he received numerous medals included were, National Defense Service medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Bronze 2 Loop (USMC), sharp shooter (Rifle) and Vietnam Service Medal w/4 bronze service stars. Rusty was a small man of stature but big on courage, he was extremely proud to have served his country it was his greatest honor, unfortunately he was never able to outrun the demons of war, may he rest in peace.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Coulter and one sister, Diane Tucker. Survivors include his mother, Emmer Elizabeth Coulter of Jacksonville, AR; two sons, Brandon (Teresa) Cowen of Bauxite, AR and Josh Coulter of Panama City, FL; three daughters, Jenny Rivera and Sarah Coulter, both of Ashville, NC and Amy Coulter of Winnsboro, TX; three sisters, Harriet (F.H.) Gill of McGehee, AR, Reba (John) Bondhus of Jacksonville, AR and Deborah (Keith) Heisser of Slidell, LA; and 14 grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Kelso Cemetery with Reverend Kenny Culpepper officiating. Viewing will be at the cemetery from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
